Standing at the side of a country road, wide enough for only one car a time to pass, not that there were any, or at the edge of a field that has been left to fallow in the clear soft light of a spring sunset, here light is in command, everything it appears is of sharp relief. Bright, certain and strong, all it seems, is determined to shine. I had gone for a walk to enjoy this particular afternoons light display, meeting nobody other than a dog walker who passed rapidly as though in a race to go somewhere. The joy of walking with a small camera gives me great pleasure, slowing me down, taking time to just observe, allowing the pleasure to soak in. These four images where all made within 35 minutes of each other, each scene held my attention way before I stole some of their time. These are not decisive moments, just a brief capture.
